Enclosure in Money Upper

Situated on a gentle NE-facing slope in a plantation. About half of a circular enclosure (diam. 30m); defined by an earth and stone bank (Wth 2m; H 1.2m) (part of the field boundary) at the NE with near vertical dry stone facing. The SE perimeter is marked by vestiges of a bank. No indication of an external fosse, entrance or internal features. Extending from the enclosure at the S is a bank which curves SW away from the site and then turns NW, possibly part of an associated enclosure or annexe. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wicklow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997).
