What is recorded here

Enclosure in Moneen (part Of) is a nearly square defensive ring in County Galway, Ireland, measuring thirty-five by thirty-three metres with an inner bank, a cutting between the banks, and an outer ridge that survives only on the east. It sits a hundred metres south-west of a mortuary chapel, linking the living and the dead in one small landscape. A low rectangular platform abuts the west side, perhaps the remains of a moated house where people watched the road, kept fire light, and marked the boundary of their world.

Some 100m SW of a mortuary chapel (GA060-176----). A fairly well-preserved almost square enclosure (E-W 35m, N-S 33m) defined by an inner bank, intervening fosse and outer bank. The outer bank only survives along E side. Abutting the monument to W is a low rectangular platform (N-S 33m, E-W 18m) defined by a scarp. Possibly a moated site.
