What is recorded here

In farmyard to W and improved pasture to E, on an E-facing slope. It is depicted on the 2nd 1903-04 ed. OS 6-inch map a circular area (overall diam. c. 50m) enclosed by a bank and bisected by a field boundary with a trackway running NW-SE along the edge of the NE quadrant. A single-storey farm shed occupies the W side and a trackway, with a deep drain along its E side, runs N-S through the centre of the monument. The E half of the monument is evident as a semi-circular area (dims. 32m N-S; 14m E-W) defined by the barely traceable remains of levelled scarp, otherwise it is not visible at ground level. According to local information the E half was levelled in the 1980s and according to Cahill (1982) the 'W half recently removed - surviving portion 15m wide [with] 1 bank, 1 ditch'. Compiled by: Jean Farrelly Date of upload: 26 August 2011

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
