What is recorded here

In level pasture on the S bank of the Owenmore River. Immediately to S is undulating rising ground, much of which has been quarried away. A rectangular area (16m N-S; c. 24m E-W) of level ground defined by traces of a fosse on the E side, by a field boundary (Wth 1.7m; H 0.3m) with a drain (Wth 1.7m; D 0.5m) on the S side and by a field boundary on the W side. The N side is defined by the river bank. Moated sites (SL026-021002-; SL026-021001-) lie 20m and 100m to W respectively. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
