What is recorded here

The following description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Carlow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1993). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 1 September 2010 Aerial photographs (CUCAP AYL 13-15) show small circular area enclosed by cropmark of fosse, with gap at S (est max. diam. c. 25m). A cropmark of a second feature visible on the APs (CW016-004002-) was the subject of test excavation prior to development, this turned out to be a backfilled quarry pit (McLoughlin C. 2006, 9). Cropmark of trackway running ENE-WSW to S (CW016-104----).
