What is recorded here
In improved, gently undulating pasture. Identified as a potential enclosure on an aerial photograph (GSI R.435/4, 16/04/1974). An oval area (dims. 20m E-W; 18m N-S) defined by scarp (Wth 2.75m; H 0.9m), external fosse (Wth 7.05m; D 1.05m) and an outer bank (Wth 5.4m; int. H 1.05m; ext. H 0.45m). The scarp survives from SE-S-W, with the remains of levelled scarp (Wth 3.5m; H 0.1m) visible from W-N-SE. The fosse is clearly defined in the SE-SW and is barely traceable (Wth 5.75m; H 0.05m) in the NW-ENE. The outer bank is visible from ESE-W, being best preserved in the SSE-SSW and is slightly modified at SE. The interior is level and grass covered.
