Kilcaskin still hides a broken ringfort where gravel and earth form a bank around a waterlogged fosse. The inner floor rises slightly above the ditch but remains below the surrounding field, creating a small hollow that rain may have filled for centuries. Three gaps puncture the bank, leaving the true entrance uncertain and forcing anyone who enters to choose a path rather than read one.

Unlocated ringfort within the townland of Kilcaskin described in 1942-3 as following; 'The bank is composed of earth and gravel. Inside it is a waterlogged fosse, which surrounds a circular level space the surface of which is about 2' [0.6m] higher than the fosse bottom, but is considerably lower than the field level outside.
