What is recorded here

Enclosure in Gorteennahilla is a vanished upland marker in County Laois, recorded on the 1841 OS map but no longer visible on the ground. It may have been a boundary, a watch point, or a claim written in stone before the stone disappeared. The absence does not erase the shape; it redirects the story into memory, survey lines and the life of the people who first drew the edge.

Marked on the 1841 edition of the OS 6-inch map. Situated in an upland area in a prominent position with excellent views of the surrounding area. No visible surface remains.
