What is recorded here
Enclosure in Gorteen (kilcoursey By.) was a fairy fort on County Offaly grassland until a bulldozer erased it in the 1960s. Local information says the earth was thrown away like ordinary soil, but the names and shape suggest it had been keeping a promise to people long before they stopped believing. No ridge or hole remains visible, yet the place still carries the memory of being hidden, valued and then removed without understanding.
Situated on grassland. According to local information this was the site of a 'fairy fort' which was bulldozed in the 1960s. No surface remains visible on Google Earth orthoimages.
