In valley floor above floor plain but well below steeper hillsides. There are good views in all directions. Indicated as an oval enclosure on the 1st (1839) ed. OS 6-inch map (overall dims. c. 60m N-S; c. 50m E-W). The monument had been levelled by 1900, as indicated on the 2nd (1900) ed. 6-inch OS map, with only the curve of the eastern sector being retained in a field boundary which ran roughly N-S of the monument. However, since 1987 this field boundary been removed. The monument is not visible at ground level.
