What is recorded here
In pasture, on a W-facing slope. An oval area (dims. 32m NW-SE; 25m NE-SW) defined by a bank (Wth 4.8m; int. H 0.3m; ext. H 1.15m). There is a breach (min. Wth 2.5m) at the ENE and a gap (Wth 7m) from WSW-WNW where the bank is reduced to scarp (Wth 1.2m H 0.3m). The bank (Wth 7.8m; int. H 0.9m; ext. H 0.95m) is best defined in the SE quadrant where there is also possible evidence of a fosse (Wth 5.6m; D 0.15m). The interior is generally level. The scar of an old drainage channel (long axis NNE-SSW) abuts the monument to the SE. There is a land drain (long axis NNW-SSE) very close to the W edge of the monument at W and two short channels (L c. 2m and L 10m) have been cut perpendicular to the main drain, c. 1.5m to the W and c. 6m to the NW respectively.
