What is recorded here

Situated in a gently undulating landscape. The cropmark of portion of a rectangular enclosure (dims c. 40m NE-SW; c. 30m NW-SE) defined by a single fosse feature is visible on aerial photograph (MM (10) 1) and digital aerial photographs (WX048-113_3 to _6) taken in July 2006. It is truncated by a NW-SE field bank at SW and its fosse encounters the fosse of rath (WX048-113005-) at E. It is within the field system (WX048-113----) and it may be a small field. It is also visible on the OSi series of aerial photographs (2000). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wexford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1996). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload/revision: 7 January 2014
