What is recorded here

Clooncullen is a lost rectangular enclosure in County Longford, visible only on an 1837 map and no longer marked by walls or ditches. It may have been a farm boundary, a seasonal shelter or a small defensive place, but the land has taken back its shape. What remains is a name saved from forgetting.
On a low rise in pasture. Depicted as a rectangular enclosure with the designation 'Fort' on the 1837 ed. of the OS 6-inch map. The monument is not visible at ground level. Compiled by: Patrick F. O'Donovan Date of upload: 26 August 2011

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
