Enclosure in Ceathrú An Fheirtéaraigh — Report the wrong picture

Dunmore Head and the Blasket islands appear beyond a low stone ring where a lone standing stone still blocks the southeast gap. The enclosure is small enough for one person to touch both inner walls, yet it faces the open ocean as if waiting for a decision rather than storing grain. Perhaps it marked a boundary between human settlement and sea, or a place where someone stood motionless until the horizon answered.

A small circular enclosure situated on a gentle SW facing slope overlooking Dunmore Head and the Blasket islands. It measures 6m in diameter internally and the enclosing stone and earth bank is 2.5m wide and no more than .3m high. A possible entrance gap at SE is blocked by a standing stone measuring 1.05m in height and 1.3m in width. The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne.
