What is recorded here

Situated on the W facing slope of high ground in mountainous area. Roughly circular area (diam 31m N-S) enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 0.3m; ext. H 1m; Wth 2m) and external fosse (Wth 2m). The interior of the site slopes from E to W. Road intercepts site at W destroying the bank and external fosse. No evidence of an entrance feature. Site now located in state forest which has been recently planted causing severe damage. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Offaly' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997).
