What is recorded here

Thirty years of enclosure in Carrownlacka, County Mayo. The evidence still shows a flat-topped circular area about eighteen metres across, with a slight scarp to the southwest and a broad low slope elsewhere. That is all the evidence gives. The story adds a chamber, a door and a man named Tom.
In pasture, on top of an elevation with a fall of ground to S–SW, giving extensive views to S and good views over gently rising ground to N. Slightly raised, flat-topped, roughly circular area (diam. c. 18m) defined SW−NW by a slight scarp and elsewhere by a broad low slope. According to local information, it is traditionally known as ‘the lios’. Compiled by: Jane O’Shaughnessy Date of upload: 22 June 2021
