What is recorded here

On the broad WNW-ESE ridge of Carnfree. Rectangular grass-covered area (dims 31m N-S; 30m E-W) with N-S potato ridges defined by an earthen bank (Wth 1.5-2m; H 0.6-0.8m) and which is bisected by a N-S field bank. The perimeter at S is incorporated into a relict E-W field bank which also has a rectangular grass-covered enclosure (RO028-064003-) (dims 22m E-W; 14m N-S) defined by earthen banks (Wth 3m; H 0.3m) attached to its S side, SW of the larger enclosure. A house site (RO028-064004-) (ext. dims 14m E-W; 7m N-S) defined by stone wall footings and divided into two rooms is in the angle of the two enclosures. Enclosure (RO028-064005-) is c. 50m to the SW, and ring-barrow (RO028-064001-) is c. 50m to the S. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010
