Carrickmines Great carried a circular enclosure on an 1837 drawing, yet no modern marker confirms whether it held a home, a shrine or a boundary. That absence makes the circle more exciting because invention can enter the gap without pretending to remember.

The OS Letters for County Dublin (1837) include a drawing of the area near Carrickmines Hill which shows a circular enclosure (O'Flanagan 1927, 39-40). This enclosure has not been precisely located. Compiled by: Geraldine Stout and Padraig Clancy. Revised upload on: 21 April 2018.
