Enclosure in Baurearagh (glanarought By., Banawn Ed)

In rough hill pasture, on the SE-facing slope of the foothills of Knocknagorravella Mountain. A circular area (diam. 7.8m) defined by a well-preserved, drystone wall (T 0.6m at base; H c. 0.8m) which narrows towards the top (T 0.4m). The lower course is partly hidden in peaty soil. There are faint traces of cultivation ridges in the interior. The collapse of smaller stones from the upper reaches of the wall are scattered along the perimeter. There is a relict field boundary (KE109-038001-) 35m to the E. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry.
