What is recorded here

On a slight W-facing slope, near the base of a slight rise, in gently undulating pasture. A moated site (TS058-048001-) is located immediately to the S. Rectangular very slightly raised area (dims. 42m N-S; 19m E-W) with defined by a broad internal earthen bank (overall Wth 8m; Wth at top 2m; int. H 0.1m; ext. H 15m) with an external wide flat-bottomed fosse (overall Wth 3.5m; Wth at base 1.4m; D 0.1m). The edge of the enclosure, possibly an annexe, is defined by the fosse of the moated site SE-SW. From SW-WSW the bank and fosse have been removed with a N-S orientated field boundary lying along the line of the removed bank and across the NW quadrant of the enclosure. The original entrance is not recognisable. The interior slopes slightly facing W and is clear of overgrowth. Compiled by: Jean Farrelly Date of upload: 26 August 2011
