What is recorded here

On the NW slope of Knockaunsmountain within a large field system (CL004-027001-). A hexagonal enclosure (c. 40m N-S: c. 40m E-W) defined by a bank and visible on Ordnance Survey ortho photography (2013-2018). The enclosure is bisected by the NW-SE townland and barony boundary. A hexagonal early-medieval ringfort (rath) located on the NW slope of Knockaunsmountain, likely dating to between the 6th and 10th centuries. No specific folklore is recorded for this site, though it may have been associated with local traditions of fairy forts or ancient habitation.
