What is recorded here

Visible on aerial photograph (OSAP/4200), and situated at the bottom of a SW-facing slope and at the head of a SE-NW valley. Rectangular grass and scrub-covered area (dims 34.5m E-W; 18.9m N-S) defined by an overgrown earthen bank (Wth 4-5.7m; int. H 0.6-0.8m; ext. H 0.7-1m). There is no visible fosse or identifiable original entrance, but the perimeter at N borders a grass-covered roadway (RO028-121005-) (Wth 7.5m; L c. 70m E-W) defined by overgrown earthen banks (Wth 1.7m; H 0.5-0.7m), with a ditch (Wth of base 1.4m; D 0.2m) outside the bank at N. The enclosure is overlain by the remnants of a N-S field wall, and a field bank of field system (RO028-121003-) is attached to the SW angle. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010
