What is recorded here

Situated on a slight S-N spur with SW-NE streams c. 150m to the NW and c. 250m to the SE. It was described in the 1940s (SMR file) as a circular overgrown area (diam. c. 25m) defined by a low earthen bank with an outer fosse, separated by a berm from an outer bank (int. H c. 1m; ext. H c. 1.5m), with traces of an outer fosse NE-S that was occupied by a farm lane elsewhere. Entrances at the N and SE were thought to be modern. It has been removed since the 1940s but an aerial photograph (CUCAP BGF 27) from the 1970s shows that it had three fosses.
