Empire Ace

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Empire Ace as Tug (period Unassigned)-(1968). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

The *Empire Ace* was a British tug built in 1919 and registered in London; it was wrecked in 1968 off the Scottish coast, likely due to poor visibility or navigational error. No lives were lost, and its significance lies in being a relatively well-preserved example of a First World War-era tug still in service decades after its launch.
