Embanked enclosure

Marked as a circular embanked enclosure (ext. diam. c. 55m) on the 1839 ed. of the OS 6-inch map, and situated on a gentle S-facing slope. This is a rectangular grass-covered area (dims. 35m N-S; 31m E-W) with raised edges (int. H 0.1-0.2m) defined by infilled moats (Wth 8-13m; D c. 0.4m) visible everywhere except at the SE corner. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wexford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1996).
