What is recorded here

Embanked enclosure is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Knock, County Roscommon, Ireland. It occupies the crest of an east-west ridge towards the eastern end. A circular scrub-covered area measures thirty-five point eight metres across and contains an inner earthen bank, a separating fosse, and an outer bank incorporated into a field bank. Both banks are removed north-east to east-south-east, leaving no visible entrance.

On the crest of an E-W ridge towards the E end. Circular scrub-covered area (diam. 35.8m NW-SE) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 5.3-8.3m; int. H 0.8-1.2m; ext. H 1.7-2.1m) separated by a fosse (at NW: Wth of top 6m; Wth of base 2.1m; D 1.5m) from an outer bank (at NW: Wth 2.6m; H 0.8m) with some bushes which is incorporated into a field bank. There is no visible entrance, and both banks are removed N-ESE. Ring-barrow (RO051-069----) is c. 140m to the W. See the attached view taken from the NE.
