Embanked enclosure is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Ishlaun, County Roscommon, Ireland. It occupies a gentle NE-facing slope at the E end of a NW-SE ridge. A circular grass-covered area measures about 42m N-S and 40m E-W. A poached earthen bank and scarp define its edge, while traces of a fosse remain SW-WSW.
On a gentle NE-facing slope at the E end of a NW-SE ridge. Circular grass-covered area (diam. c. 42m N-S; c. 40m E-W) defined by a poached earthen bank (Wth 2.75m; int. H 0.6m; ext. H 1.8m) NW-E and a scarp (H 0.7m) elsewhere, with traces of a fosse (Wth of top 9.6m; Wth of base 2.4m; int. D 0.6m; ext. D 0.1m) SW-WSW. There is no visible entrance, and the interior is overlain by a WNW-ESE field wall S of the centre.
