What is recorded here
Embanked enclosure is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Glenfin, County Roscommon, Ireland. It appears as a circular embanked enclosure about forty metres across on the 1837 and 1915 Ordnance Survey maps. The site occupies the top of an east-facing slope in a col, with higher ground roughly three hundred metres to the northwest and southwest. Reclaimed pasture now covers the area, hiding the earthwork from view at ground level.
Marked as a circular embanked enclosure (ext. diam. c. 40m) on the 1837 and 1915 eds of the OS 6-inch map, and situated towards the top of an E-facing slope in a col with higher ground c. 300m to the NW and SW. It is not visible at ground level in an area of reclaimed pasture.
