What is recorded here
Embanked enclosure is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Fearagh (caddell), County Roscommon, Ireland. It occupies the top of a steep north-facing drumlin slope as a circular grass area thirty metres wide. An earthen bank and outer fosse define most of the perimeter, while a scarp closes the remaining edge. A field bank circumscribes the site, and Rath lies two hundred twenty metres to the southeast.
Towards the top of the steep N-facing slope of a drumlin. Circular grass-covered area (diam. 30m E-W; 28m N-S) defined by an earthen bank with some scrub (at E: Wth 4.2m; int. H 0.2m; ext. H 1.2m; at W: int. H 1m; ext. H 1.2m) and an outer fosse (Wth of top 5-7.2m; Wth of base 2m; D 0.3-0.9m) E-S-NW, and by a scarp (H 1.6m) elsewhere. There is no visible entrance, but the perimeter is circumscribed by a field bank SSE-SSW. Rath (RO017-105----) is c. 220m to the SE.
