Embanked enclosure

Marked as double rectangular enclosure defined by earthen banks or moats on the 1839 ed. of the OS 6 inch map, but only the E enclosure is now visible in pasture. It is situated on a slight rise. This is a rectangular area (dims. 40m N-S; 37m E-W) defined by water-filled fosse (Wth 6m) at S and a field drain (Wth 6m) at W. The moats (Wth c. 6m) at N and E are visible as vegetation change and a slight dip in the surface of the field.
