Embanked enclosure is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Cuiltyshinnoge, County Roscommon, Ireland. It occupies an oval grass-covered area on the NE-facing slope of a drumlin, bounded by an overgrown earthen bank, field hedge, outer drain and scarp. Two possible modern entrances cut through the bank at the NE and S, while Rath lies about 50m to the SE.
On the NE-facing slope of a drumlin. Oval grass-covered area (dims 49m NW-SE; 38m NE-SW) defined by an overgrown earthen bank (at S: Wth 3.8m; int. H 1.1m; ext. H 1.3m; at E: Wth 4.4m; int. H 0.3m; ext. H 1.8m) which is incorporated into a field bank and hedge with an outer fosse re-cut as a drain (Wth of top 5m; Wth of base 2-2.5m; D 0.9m) E-SW, and elsewhere by a scarp (H 1.2-1.3m) and hedge. There are entrances at NE (Wth 3m) and S (Wth 2.5m), both of which could be modern. Rath (RO017-146----) is c. 50m to the SE.
