Embanked enclosure is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Corracoggil North, County Roscommon, Ireland. The circular grass-covered area sits on a level landscape and contains an inner earthen bank, a wide fosse, and an outer bank. Both banks show quarrying, while the site has no visible entrance. Archaeological testing west of the enclosure during 2008 found no related material.
On a level landscape. Circular grass-covered area (diam. 35.1m E-W) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 5-7.3m; int. H 0.5-1.5m; ext. H 2.2m) SE-W-NW separated by a fosse (Wth of top 7.2m; Wth of base 3.4m; D 0.5-1m) SSE-W-N from an outer bank (Wth 2.7m; ext. H 1.9m) SW-NW. The outer bank is quarried NW-E-SW, and the inner bank is quarried NW-NE and E-SSE (dim. 30m N-S). There is no visible entrance. Archaeological testing (08E0779) of a large area immediately to the W during 2008 produced no related material (Fitzpatrick 2008; 2011).
