Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

On the crest of a low NW-SE ridge. Circular grass and thistle-covered area (diam. 48m E-W; 44m N-S) defined by an earthen bank with some bushes (at W: Wth 3.4m; int. H 0.4m; ext. H 1.1m) SSW-NW which is reduced to a scarp (H 0.5-0.6m) elsewhere. There is a complete fosse (Wth of top 5.1-5.6m; Wth of base 1.9-3.1m; D 0.3m at N), and an outer bank and hedge (at S: Wth 3m; int. H 0,9m; ext. H 0.3m) SSW-NW. The inner edge of the fosse is quarried (L 11m; Wth 3m) at NE, and there is no identifiable original entrance. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010
