What is recorded here
Embanked enclosure is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Cloonfad (moycarn By.), County Roscommon, Ireland. It occupies the SW-facing crest of a broad NW-SE esker as a subcircular grass and scrub-covered area measuring 34.7m NW-SE and 31m NE-SW. An overgrown earth and stone bank defines the interior, while an outer fosse and partial outer bank surround it. A NE-SW stone wall bisects the space, and local tradition identifies the site as a children's burial ground.
