Elizabeth Thompson

Elizabeth Thompson died at Gormanston Castle in County Meath, Ireland, on 2 October 1933. She spent her final years in that Irish house after painting the pathos and heroism of battle for Britain. The castle holds her departure from the world, not the noisy fame of her canvas.
