Eilean nan Gillean is shown as a headland on the public map of Na h-Eileanan Siar. The saved point is the map point or the centre of its mapped shape.
Eilean nan Gillean is a coastal rock feature located in the Na h-Eileanan Siar archipelago, composed primarily of Lewisian gneiss, some of the oldest rocks in the British Isles, dating back over 2.7 billion years. These metamorphic rocks formed deep within the Earth's crust through high-pressure and high-temperature processes and are notable for their durability and the insight they provide into early Earth geology.
