What is recorded here

Edward MacCabe was born in Dublin in 1816 and rose from a poor shopkeeper's family to become Archbishop and later Cardinal. He refused a bishopric in South Africa because he would not leave Ireland, then pastured Kingstown for twelve years before succeeding Cullen. His fierce denunciation of the No Rent Manifesto overshadowed even his red hat, marking a church leader who preferred direct confrontation to diplomatic silence.
