Edward Bromhead was born in County Dublin, Ireland on 26 March 1789. He became the second Bromhead baronet of Thurlby Hall, where he died unmarried on 14 March 1855 after losing his sight. He used his position to guide George Green and George Boole, helping their mathematical ideas reach wider audiences.
