Edinburgh Castle, Crown Room is a 16th Century Jewel House where the kingdom's brightest treasures waited behind stone walls. It is not a display case for tourists but a locked chamber for the crown itself. The room still belongs to the castle's oldest purpose: keeping what cannot be replaced away from hunger, war and forgetfulness.
