What is recorded here
The sub-circular form of the graveyard (WM027-066001-) possibly indicates the presence of an Early Christian ecclesiastical enclosure (Swan 1988, 21). It is possible that the graveyard may be located on the site of the monastery of Clonfad founded around the middle of the 6th century by St. Etchen (Cogan 1870, 553).
