Kilmalinoge circles one hundred and eighty metres across gently undulating Galway pasture, enclosing a medieval church and graveyard within twin earth banks and a narrow fosse. The inner bank still rises a metre wide and eleven centimetres high where visible, while the outer bank survives thin and low from southeast to south and northwest to north. Low internal banks in the north sector hint that the space was divided for different uses, perhaps worship, burial and domestic life. The completed circle suggests exclusion as much as invitation, a boundary drawn around sacred ground long before modern roads or fields arrived.

In gently undulating pastureland. This roughly circular ecclesiastical enclosure (diam. c. 180m) is defined by two banks of earth and stone with an intervening fosse. The inner bank (Wth 1m; int. H 0.4m; ext. H 1.1m) is visible except at NE and from WSW to WNW. The fosse (Wth 2.9m; D 0.4m) and outer bank (Wth 1.1m; int. H 0.4m; ext. H 0.1m) are best preserved from SE to S and from NW to N. A medieval church (GA118-057002-) and graveyard (GA118-057003-) are located just to the NE of the centre of the interior. Within the N sector a series of low banks may indicate internal divisions.
