Eavan Boland

Eavan Boland was born in Dublin in 1944, the year wars still shadowed Europe and before her father's diplomacy carried the family across seas. She returned at fourteen to Killiney, entered Trinity, and published before twenty-two. Kevin Casey and two daughters deepened her vision of ordinary life as a stage for history. Stanford later gave her a global voice, but Dublin remained the root, shaping a poet who turned private memory into public truth.
