East Cliff Ramsgate is a sea cliff composed primarily of Chalk Group rocks, dating back to the Late Cretaceous period, approximately 66 to 100 million years old. The cliff formed through the exposure of horizontal chalk beds by coastal erosion, and is notable for its accessibility and as a classic example of Cretaceous geology in the southern North Sea region.
