What is recorded here
No visible earthwork exists today, only a partial cropmark recorded in 1984 aerial photographs above what may have been a levelled ringfort. The place is a ghost of a ghost: a farm field in County Limerick where an older shape once held, and even that shape has mostly vanished from human sight.
In reclaimed pasture, 65m S of townland boundary with Knocklong East, a possible barrow(LI041-042----) lies 80m to the SW. Not marked on OSi historic maps. Identified as potential site consisting of a partial cropmark visible from SW-W-N of what may have been a levelled ringfort on Bórd Gáis Éireann Curraleigh West-Limerick gas pipeline aerial photographs (BGE 1/5000; Strip Map 4, Site 4/14) taken 03/11/1984. No surface remains visible on Digital Globe orthoimage or on Google Earth orthoimages.
