What is recorded here
According to Power (1898, 51) there had been a moat, that had long been removed but was remembered locally c. 1900, within c. 100m of the find-spot of a Late Bronze Age hoard of tools and weapons (WA030-040----). He suggests that it may have been a crannog, which is unlikely, but it remains unlocated.
