Earthwork in Bredagh (kilconnell By.)

Bredagh holds a rectangular earth platform twenty-eight metres long on a Galway rise, its western and northern edges still marked by a metre-and-a-half scarp while hedgerows take the other two sides. The featureless interior slopes slightly west, inviting speculation about whether people stood there to watch storms, tend animals or mark a boundary before written memory. Its plain shape resists grand claims, yet it remains a made place, not a random mound, and that much is enough to stop staring at the sky for a moment.
