What is recorded here

Mud, fire and prayer marked Ballymacrea Lower before stone towers existed anywhere near Antrim. The settlement belonged to the early Christian period, when belief arrived raw and unsteady in northern fields. People likely gathered there to worship, bury their dead and keep alive a faith still learning the shape of its own rules.
