What is recorded here

Entrance to Dunboyne Castle, built c.1764, comprising channelled ashlar gate piers surmounted by ball finials with Greek key motifs. Set in rendered curved walls having inset square-headed pedestrian entrances. Rendered quoins, cornices and segmental-arched voussoirs to pedestrian entrances. Replacement single and pair of gates.
This entrance forms part of a group with Dunboyne House and related outbuildings. The channelled ashlar piers and surrounds to the pedestrian openings are of apparent architectural design. The entrance makes a positive contribution to the streetscape of Dunboyne.

This does not grant access. Most recorded buildings are privately owned; view them only from public ground unless the owner allows entry.
