What is recorded here

Thirty-one Castle Street in Dumfries is a nineteenth-century terraced house now occupied by a hairdressers salon. The old stone structure still stands beside its neighbours, but inside scissors replace ghosts and shampoo replaces dust. Whoever cuts hair there now works within walls that have watched the street change for generations. The building survives by adapting, not by freezing in time.

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Dumfries, 31 Castle Street as Hairdressers Salon (21st Century), Terraced House (19th Century). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
