Dryslwyn Castle is a Welsh stone fortress built in the 1220s on a rocky hill above the Towy Valley. Rhys ap Maredudd strengthened it before King Edward I broke through its walls during a three-week siege in 1287. The surviving round tower and broken hall rings with the violence of that struggle, while the wide valley below remains quietly bright.
